Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and storage of menu items in accordance with established procedures for taste, presentation, and hygiene standards
• Help prepare consistent, high-quality food products while ensuring courteous and efficient kitchen operations
• Prepare special meals or substitute items as required, and regulate ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters appropriately
• Manage thawing, portioning, arrangement, and garnishing of food items from cold storage
• Support the Demi Chef and senior kitchen staff with daily mise en place and prep lists
• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safety-compliant workstation at all times
• Follow all recipe standards and presentation guidelines set by the hotel’s culinary team
• Assist with stock rotation, labeling, and storage procedures in line with HACCP standards
• Communicate effectively with front-of-house and service staff to ensure smooth order flow
• Participate in ongoing culinary training and skills development sessions

Requirements

• Prior kitchen experience preferred; culinary diploma or vocational training is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP, and kitchen safety practices
• Willingness to learn multiple sections including hot kitchen, cold kitchen, and pastry basics
• Strong attention to detail and consistency under pressure
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Physical stamina to work extended hours in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
• Must be eligible to live and work in Dubai
