ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Barista to be the heart of our vibrant café. You will prepare specialty coffee beverages, engage with our sports community, and create a welcoming atmosphere that complements our padel and fitness lifestyle. This is more than just making coffee—you’ll be part of building a community hub where athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and social members gather. Your passion for quality coffee and genuine customer service will be essential to our café’s success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based beverages including cappuccinos, lattes, macchiatos, and specialty drinks
- Execute alternative brewing methods such as pour-over, Aeropress, and French press with precision
- Develop and maintain latte art skills to enhance the visual presentation of beverages
- Educate customers about coffee origins, roast profiles, and flavor characteristics
- Maintain espresso machines, grinders, and café equipment in optimal working condition
- Manage the café counter, POS system, and payment processing accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café workspace and equipment
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, remembering preferences and building relationships
- Handle inventory management, ordering supplies, and tracking coffee stock
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak times
- Follow health and safety standards and maintain proper food handling practices
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 1-2 years of barista experience in a café or specialty coffee environment
- Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment operation
- Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for hospitality
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Strong attention to detail and consistency in beverage preparation
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 15 kg
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are a plus
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, and weekends
DESIRED SKILLS
- SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) Barista Certification
- Knowledge of single-origin beans and specialty coffee sourcing
- Experience with milk alternatives and dietary accommodations
- Passion for sports and fitness community engagement
