About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Specialty Coffee Barista who understands the nuances of specialty coffee preparation and is passionate about delivering consistently excellent beverages. This role goes beyond making coffee—you will be a brand ambassador, educating customers about coffee origins, brewing methods, and flavor profiles while creating beautiful, high-quality espresso-based drinks. You will work in a dynamic café environment, managing multiple orders during peak times while maintaining our exacting standards of quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso-based beverages (cappuccinos, lattes, macchiatos, flat whites, cortados, etc.) with precision and consistency
- Master and execute alternative brewing methods including pour-over, Aeropress, French press, and Moka pot
- Perform equipment maintenance and cleaning, including espresso machine backflushing and grinder calibration
- Educate customers about specialty coffee, bean origins, roast profiles, and tasting notes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming café environment
- Operate the point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently
- Manage cash handling and inventory of coffee beans, milk alternatives, and supplies
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth service during busy periods
- Develop latte art and presentation skills to enhance the visual appeal of beverages
- Stay current with specialty coffee trends and participate in barista training sessions
What Sets You Apart:
- SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) Barista Certification or equivalent
- Understanding of coffee chemistry, water quality, and grind consistency
- Ability to consistently pull quality espresso shots
- Strong latte art skills with proper milk steaming technique
- Knowledge of single-origin beans and their unique characteristics
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years of barista experience in a specialty coffee environment
- Deep passion for specialty coffee and commitment to continuous learning
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently during peak service times
- Strong attention to detail and consistency in beverage preparation
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 15 kg
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are a plus
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends
