Rosewood Abu Dhabi is hiring a Commis I Chef for its Banquet kitchen team. This is a strong opportunity for culinary professionals looking to build hands-on experience in a large-scale, high-volume luxury banqueting operation — from weddings and galas to major corporate events hosted at the property.

Banquet kitchens move differently from à la carte kitchens: precision, speed, and consistency across hundreds of covers at once are the standard. Rosewood is looking for a Commis I who is eager to sharpen these skills under experienced culinary leadership.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Prepare ingredients and dishes according to standardized recipes and Rosewood’s quality benchmarks for banquet events.
• Support senior chefs during high-volume event preparation, plating, and service execution.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards across all assigned kitchen stations.
• Assist with mise en place, portioning, and storage procedures ahead of scheduled banquet functions.
• Follow HACCP and hotel hygiene protocols consistently throughout every shift.
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen brigade to ensure smooth timing during multi-course banquet service.
• Take direction from senior chefs and actively build culinary skills across different cuisine styles.

What Rosewood Is Looking For

• Culinary diploma or relevant kitchen training, along with prior experience in a hotel or banquet kitchen environment.
• Basic to intermediate knife skills and understanding of cooking fundamentals across hot and cold sections.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during large-scale, time-sensitive banquet events.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills within a fast-paced, multicultural kitchen brigade.
