Position: Barista
Outlet: Café Belge
Location: Dubai, UAE
Job Type: Full-Time
Experience Level: Barista experience preferred, trainees with strong attitude considered
Café Belge is hiring a Barista to join its coffee counter team, serving a regular mix of residents, brunch-goers, and coffee regulars who come back specifically for consistency — the same great flat white, the same warm greeting, every single visit. If you take pride in coffee craft and enjoy the rhythm of a busy café bar, this role is worth a look.
Unlike a hotel outlet, café-style roles like this one tend to build closer relationships with regular customers, which means your personality and consistency directly shape the café’s reputation in the neighbourhood.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing espresso-based drinks, filter coffee, and specialty beverages to the café’s recipe standards
- Operating and cleaning espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment daily
- Taking orders at the counter and via table service where applicable, with accuracy and speed
- Building rapport with regular guests — remembering usual orders and small preferences that keep people coming back
- Managing coffee, milk, and syrup stock levels, and communicating reorder needs to the outlet manager
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and fully stocked coffee station throughout each shift
- Supporting light food service — pastries, sandwiches, and light bites — alongside the beverage counter
- Following all food safety and hygiene protocols consistently
What Café Belge Is Looking For
- Previous barista or café experience preferred; candidates with strong coffee passion and a willingness to train quickly may also be considered
- Comfortable with espresso extraction, milk steaming, and basic latte art
- Friendly, consistent, guest-first attitude — this café thrives on repeat customers
- Good spoken English; additional languages are a bonus
- Ability to stay calm and organised during weekend brunch rushes and peak morning hours
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working a standard café shift pattern including weekends
Why This Role Is Worth Considering
Independent café roles like this one give baristas more room to develop their own style and build direct relationships with guests — something that’s harder to do in a large hotel outlet with heavier volume and less repeat clientele. It’s a strong environment for someone looking to sharpen coffee craft while also building genuine hospitality and people skills.
Café experience is also widely respected across Dubai’s F&B scene. Many senior baristas, café supervisors, and even F&B managers started exactly here — behind a counter, learning to read regulars and manage a bar solo during quiet stretches and busy peaks alike.
