WAITRESS

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a dedicated and friendly Waitress to provide outstanding customer service and ensure every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience at Common Grounds. You will be the face of our establishment, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and creating a welcoming atmosphere that keeps customers coming back. The ideal candidate is professional, efficient, and genuinely enjoys interacting with people from all walks of life.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Welcome guests warmly and seat them according to restaurant layout and availability
• Present menus and provide recommendations based on guest preferences and dietary requirements
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them correctly to the kitchen and bar
• Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, ensuring correct order fulfillment
• Check on guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns immediately
• Process payments accurately using the point-of-sale system and handle cash and card transactions
• Clear and reset tables promptly, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and pricing to provide accurate information
• Handle special requests and accommodate dietary restrictions with professionalism and courtesy
• Collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and fellow servers to ensure smooth operations
• Follow health and safety protocols and maintain personal hygiene standards
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including side work and inventory tasks

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 1-2 years of waitressing or food service experience in a restaurant or café
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle challenging situations gracefully
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Physical ability to stand for long shifts and carry food/beverage trays
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are a plus
• Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, and evenings
• Professionalism, reliability, and positive attitude
• Valid work visa or residency as per local employment regulations

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and restaurant management software
• Knowledge of food allergies and dietary restrictions
• Certification in food handling and hygiene
• Experience in a specialty coffee café environment
• Multilingual abilities
