Sakhalin Dubai, the city’s celebrated Pan-Asian and Japanese dining destination known for its vibrant atmosphere and theatrical open kitchens, is growing its team. Three roles are currently open — Waiter, Sushi Chef, and Hostess — offering hospitality professionals the chance to work within one of Dubai’s most talked-about restaurant concepts. Full details for each position are outlined below.
1. Waiter
Deliver an engaging, high-energy dining experience to guests across a fast-paced, high-volume floor.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on the menu, including sushi and Pan-Asian dishes
- Deliver food and drinks promptly while maintaining service flow and timing
- Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns quickly and professionally
- Maintain cleanliness and setup standards across assigned sections
- Upsell menu items and promotions in line with restaurant targets
Requirements: Minimum 1 year restaurant service experience, ideally in a high-volume or Asian dining concept; excellent spoken English; energetic, guest-focused personality; ability to work evenings and weekends.
2. Sushi Chef
Bring precision and artistry to Sakhalin’s open sushi counter, delivering dishes that combine technical skill with visual impact.
- Prepare sushi, sashimi, and rolls to Sakhalin’s exact recipes and presentation standards
- Handle and portion fresh seafood with strict attention to food safety and quality
- Work the live sushi counter with guest-facing precision and confidence during service
- Manage mise en place, stock rotation, and cold-chain hygiene protocols
- Collaborate with kitchen leadership on daily specials and seasonal menu items
- Maintain a clean, organised, and fully compliant sushi station at all times
Requirements: Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Sushi Chef in a professional kitchen; strong knife skills and knowledge of Japanese culinary techniques; food safety certification preferred; ability to perform confidently at a live counter.
3. Hostess
As the face of Sakhalin Dubai, the Hostess creates guests’ first impression with warmth, poise, and efficient organisation.
- Welcome guests warmly and manage seating arrangements and reservations
- Coordinate closely with the floor and management team on table turns and guest flow
- Manage the guest waitlist professionally during peak dining hours
- Handle phone and walk-in enquiries with a polished, brand-appropriate tone
- Maintain the front-of-house area’s presentation and ambiance standards
- Support VIP and special-occasion guest experiences
Requirements: Previous hostess/reception experience in a busy restaurant preferred; excellent presentation and communication skills; multilingual candidates an advantage; flexible availability including evenings and weekends.
