We are looking for a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join our
culinary leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an

About the role

As Sous Chef at Good Moon, you will be the right hand to our Head Chef,
overseeing daily kitchen operations, leading the brigade, and ensuring
every dish meets our exacting standards. You will play a key role in
menu development, staff training, and maintaining a positive, productive
kitchen environment.

This role requires a chef with strong leadership skills, a creative
mindset, and the ability to perform under pressure. You will be
responsible for managing food quality, controlling costs, and upholding
the highest standards of hygiene and safety. If you are passionate about

Key responsibilities

  • Kitchen leadership: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the kitchen team, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  • Menu execution: Prepare and plate dishes to the highest standards, maintaining consistency and presentation.
  • Quality control: Inspect ingredients, monitor cooking processes, and ensure all dishes meet Good Moon’s quality benchmarks.
  • Staff development: Train, mentor, and motivate junior chefs, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
  • Inventory management: Oversee stock levels, place orders, and minimize waste while optimizing food costs.
  • Hygiene & safety: Enforce strict adherence to food safety, HACCP, and workplace health regulations.
  • Menu innovation: Collaborate with the Head Chef on seasonal specials and new dish development.

What we are looking for

  • Experience: Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or Sous Chef role.
  • Culinary education: Formal culinary training or equivalent experience is highly preferred.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse kitchen team.
  • Technical skills: Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and modern plating trends.
  • Organization: Excellent time management and multitasking skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Passion: A genuine love for food, creativity, and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
