We are looking for a talented and dedicated Bakery Chef to join our
growing team. If you have a love for baking, an eye for detail, and a
desire to create exceptional products, we want to meet you.
About the role
our full range of baked goods – from breads and viennoiserie to cakes,
tarts, and seasonal specialties. You’ll work with high-quality
ingredients, maintain consistency, and bring your creativity to our
menu development.
This role is ideal for a baker who takes pride in their craft, enjoys
working in a collaborative environment, and is committed to maintaining
the highest standards of hygiene and presentation. You’ll have the
opportunity to contribute to our menu evolution and grow alongside a
passionate culinary team.
Key responsibilities
- Baking production: Prepare and bake a wide variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts to Bites and Trays’ standards.
- Recipe execution: Follow and refine recipes to ensure consistency in taste, texture, and appearance.
- Quality control: Inspect raw ingredients and finished products, maintaining the highest quality benchmarks.
- Menu innovation: Collaborate with the Head Chef on seasonal specials and new product development.
- Kitchen hygiene: Maintain a clean, organized workspace and adhere to all food safety and HACCP regulations.
- Inventory management: Monitor stock levels, minimize waste, and assist with ordering supplies.
- Team support: Mentor junior bakers and foster a positive, learning-oriented kitchen culture.
What we are looking for
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of professional baking experience in a bakery, patisserie, or high-volume kitchen.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of bread-making techniques, pastry production, and dessert plating.
- Creativity: A passion for developing new recipes and interpreting trends.
- Precision: Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Team player: Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to support colleagues.
- Flexibility: Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
