We are looking for a talented and dedicated Bakery Chef to join our
growing team. If you have a love for baking, an eye for detail, and a
desire to create exceptional products, we want to meet you.

About the role

As Bakery Chef at Bites and Trays, you will be responsible for producing
our full range of baked goods – from breads and viennoiserie to cakes,
tarts, and seasonal specialties. You’ll work with high-quality
ingredients, maintain consistency, and bring your creativity to our
menu development.

This role is ideal for a baker who takes pride in their craft, enjoys
working in a collaborative environment, and is committed to maintaining
the highest standards of hygiene and presentation. You’ll have the
opportunity to contribute to our menu evolution and grow alongside a
passionate culinary team.

Key responsibilities

  • Baking production: Prepare and bake a wide variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts to Bites and Trays’ standards.
  • Recipe execution: Follow and refine recipes to ensure consistency in taste, texture, and appearance.
  • Quality control: Inspect raw ingredients and finished products, maintaining the highest quality benchmarks.
  • Menu innovation: Collaborate with the Head Chef on seasonal specials and new product development.
  • Kitchen hygiene: Maintain a clean, organized workspace and adhere to all food safety and HACCP regulations.
  • Inventory management: Monitor stock levels, minimize waste, and assist with ordering supplies.
  • Team support: Mentor junior bakers and foster a positive, learning-oriented kitchen culture.

What we are looking for

  • Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of professional baking experience in a bakery, patisserie, or high-volume kitchen.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of bread-making techniques, pastry production, and dessert plating.
  • Creativity: A passion for developing new recipes and interpreting trends.
  • Precision: Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Team player: Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to support colleagues.
  • Flexibility: Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
