Why Join Rotana
Rotana is known across the region for its strong internal promotion culture, structured training programs, and staff benefits including accommodation, transportation, meals, and medical insurance in line with UAE hospitality standards. Starting as a Kitchen Steward offers a clear pathway into stewarding supervisory roles and broader back-of-house hospitality careers within one of the Middle East’s most established hotel groups.
A Day in the Stewarding Department
The stewarding team is the engine room behind every service, and a typical shift involves managing a steady flow of dishwashing, pot-washing, and equipment turnaround between breakfast, lunch, and dinner services across the hotel’s outlets. During banqueting functions and large events, the pace intensifies significantly, requiring close coordination with chefs and service staff to keep equipment moving without delays. Beyond dishwashing, Kitchen Stewards also take ownership of deep-cleaning schedules for kitchen equipment, extraction systems, and storage areas, working to strict hygiene checklists that align with Rotana’s internal audits and Dubai Municipality food safety requirements.
Rotana places strong emphasis on internal mobility, and Kitchen Stewards who demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic are often considered for Senior Steward and Chief Steward assistant roles over time. For many hospitality professionals in the UAE, a stewarding position with a respected group like Rotana serves as a stable and structured entry point into a much broader hotel operations career.
