As part of its ongoing facilities and student support operations, the school is currently looking to hire a dependable and caring individual for the combined role of Cleaner / Bus Nanny.

About the Role

This is a dual-responsibility position combining school facilities cleaning duties with student welfare support on the school bus. During school bus hours, you will be responsible for the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of students during their journey to and from school. Outside of transport hours, you will support the school’s cleanliness and hygiene standards across classrooms, common areas, and facilities. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, responsible, and genuinely enjoys working around children in a school community setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise students during school bus journeys, ensuring their safety and good behaviour
• Assist younger students with boarding, seating, seatbelt use, and disembarking safely
• Communicate promptly with school staff and parents regarding any transport-related concerns
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across classrooms, corridors, and common areas
• Carry out daily cleaning duties including dusting, mopping, sanitising, and waste disposal
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the facilities team
• Follow all school child protection, safeguarding, and health & safety policies
• Assist with basic first aid or emergency procedures on the bus if required
• Support smooth daily school operations during both morning and afternoon transport runs
• Maintain a calm, friendly, and approachable manner with students at all times

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, or bus nanny capacity is preferred
• Experience in cleaning or facilities support roles is an advantage
• Patient, caring, and responsible nature with strong attention to child safety
• Good communication skills in English
• Willingness to undergo child protection and background verification checks
• Physically able to carry out cleaning duties and assist children as needed
• Punctual and reliable, given the fixed timing nature of school bus routes
