About the role

Pret A Manger is looking for a passionate and skilled Barista to join our team.
You’ll be the heart of our coffee experience, crafting consistently excellent drinks,
creating genuine moments of connection with guests, and bringing the energy and warmth
that defines Pret Buzz.

Our Baristas are brilliant team players who are passionate about what they brew.
You’ll handmake and lovingly pour all our Barista‑prepared drinks (ice ones too),
taking your responsibility to make people their favourite drinks seriously.
Before pouring a single customer’s espresso, you’ll undergo weeks of training
– giving you all the skills, pace and confidence you need to make the perfect organic
Pret coffee.

Key responsibilities

• Craft excellence: Make all Barista Prepared Drinks to Pret standards, including espresso‑based drinks, iced drinks, and signature recipes.
• Speed & service: Deliver drinks within the 60‑second service standard, communicating proactively when delays occur.
• Training & coaching: Coach and train Team Member Stars and Baristas‑in‑training on Barista Prepared Drinks and standards.
• Customer experience: Positively engage with guests and the team with eye contact and a smile; ‘wow’ customers with latte art.
• Equipment & cleanliness: Maintain Barista Prepared Drinks equipment, carry out daily & weekly checks, and manage stock and waste levels to Pret standards.
• Sales & growth: Support with weekly sales targets, know your shop’s Barista Prepared Drinks sales mix, and recognise regular customers.
