Key Responsibilities
- Deliver refined, attentive table service in line with Mandarin Oriental’s luxury service standards
- Greet and seat guests, present menus, and offer knowledgeable recommendations on food and beverage pairings
- Take and relay orders accurately between guests and the kitchen or bar team
- Set and reset tables to precise presentation standards before and after each service
- Anticipate guest needs proactively, adjusting service pace to match the occasion
- Handle billing, payments, and guest requests with discretion and professionalism
- Maintain full knowledge of daily menus, specials, allergens, and wine or beverage offerings
- Support colleagues during high-profile events, banquets, and VIP functions
- Uphold hygiene, grooming, and service etiquette standards at all times
Requirements
- Previous waiter/waitress experience in a 5-star hotel or fine-dining restaurant strongly preferred
- Immaculate grooming and presentation, in line with luxury hospitality expectations
- Excellent spoken English; additional languages (Arabic, French, or others) are a strong advantage
- Genuine passion for guest service and close attention to detail
- Ability to remain composed, gracious, and efficient during high-pressure or high-profile events
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Basic food and beverage knowledge, including wine service, is a plus
