As a Runner, you’ll be the vital link between the kitchen and the dining room, ensuring every dish leaves the pass and reaches the guest exactly as the chef intended — at the right temperature, presented correctly, and delivered with a smile. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that’s often the first step toward a long-term career in food and beverage service, with real potential to grow into server, captain, or supervisory positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver food and beverage orders from the kitchen to guest tables promptly and accurately, following plating and presentation standards.
- Communicate clearly with chefs, servers, and floor supervisors to keep service flowing smoothly during peak hours.
- Check each dish against the order ticket before it leaves the kitchen to catch errors before they reach the guest.
- Assist with table setup, clearing, and resetting to maintain a clean, guest-ready dining room at all times.
- Support servers with refills, condiments, and additional guest requests as needed.
- Maintain full knowledge of the menu, including ingredients and potential allergens, to answer basic guest questions confidently.
- Follow all hygiene, safety, and food-handling standards in line with Dubai Municipality and hotel policy.
- Report any equipment issues, shortages, or guest concerns to the shift supervisor immediately.
- Assist with opening and closing side-work, including restocking service stations.
- Contribute to a positive, team-first atmosphere on a busy, high-energy floor.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a runner, busser, or in a similar F&B support role is an advantage, but enthusiastic candidates new to the industry are welcome to apply.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
- Physically fit and comfortable being on your feet for extended periods, including carrying trays.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills; comfortable working alongside kitchen and floor staff under pressure.
- Good command of English; additional languages are a plus given the hotel’s international guest base.
- Well-groomed, punctual, and reliable, with a genuine interest in hospitality as a career path.
- Flexibility to work rotational shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Candidates already based in the UAE and able to join quickly will be prioritized.
