Personal Barista – Subko Roastary Coffee

Subko is not your average coffee brand. Born out of Mumbai and now making waves at Alserkal Avenue in Dubai, Subko Specialty Coffee Roasters, Bakehouse & Fine Cacao is the first Indian specialty coffee concept to open in the UAE — and everything about it is intentional. From sourcing SCA 85+ scoring beans directly from Indian coffee estates and subcontinental smallholder farmers, to crafting cacao pod-to-bar and baking fresh viennoiserie and sourdough from scratch every single day, Subko does things properly.

They are now looking for a Personal Barista to join their Dubai team — someone who genuinely loves coffee, cares about consistency, and wants to represent a brand that is doing something genuinely different in the Gulf specialty coffee scene.

What the Role Involves

As a Personal Barista at Subko Dubai, you will be preparing a full range of espresso-based drinks, pour-overs, and specialty beverages using beans that are roasted in-house under the guidance of in-house Arabica Q Graders. Every batch coming off that roaster scores 85+ points — so the raw material is exceptional. Your job is to honour that quality every single time a drink leaves the bar.

Beyond brewing, the role involves customizing drinks to each guest’s personal preference, maintaining and cleaning all equipment to a consistent standard, managing coffee and beverage inventory, and being a genuine ambassador for Subko’s story — the Indian Subcontinent as a legitimate contributor to the global specialty coffee movement.

The Dubai outlet at Alserkal Avenue has quickly become one of the most talked-about new coffee spaces in the city, drawing both specialty coffee enthusiasts and curious first-timers who have never encountered Indian specialty coffee before.
