As Barista, you’ll be responsible for the full coffee and beverage experience at the hotel’s café or lobby outlet, working closely with the wider F&B team to keep service fast, consistent, and genuinely welcoming during Dubai’s busy breakfast and all-day dining hours.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, filter coffee, teas, and specialty beverages to Hyatt brand standards
- Operate, clean, and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment daily
- Greet guests warmly, take accurate orders, and offer recommendations based on guest preferences
- Handle cash and POS transactions accurately, including up-selling pastries and light bites where appropriate
- Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and mise en place standards at the coffee station throughout service
- Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and disposables, and flag reorders to the outlet supervisor
- Follow all UAE food safety and HACCP guidelines for beverage preparation and station cleanliness
- Coordinate with kitchen and service colleagues during busy periods to keep ticket times consistent
- Handle guest questions or minor complaints professionally, escalating to a supervisor when needed
- Support new menu rollouts, seasonal promotions, and any barista training initiatives run by the outlet
What You’ll Need
- Previous barista experience in a hotel, café, or branded coffee outlet is preferred; strong candidates with café or F&B service experience and a genuine coffee background will also be considered
- Solid working knowledge of espresso extraction, milk texturing, and latte art is an advantage
- Basic food safety knowledge; UAE food handler certification is a plus and can often be completed on the job
- Good spoken English and confident, friendly guest interaction skills
- Ability to stay composed and efficient during high-volume morning and breakfast rushes
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and working a rotating shift pattern, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays
- A tidy, hygiene-conscious approach to workstation management
