About the Role
Candy Gang is looking for an energetic and skilled Barista to join its front-of-house team. This role goes beyond standard coffee preparation, as the Barista becomes part of the overall guest experience within a concept built on fun, personality, and visual flair. The ideal candidate combines strong technical coffee-making skills with a vibrant, outgoing personality and the ability to keep pace in a busy, high-energy environment. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and specialty beverage items to a consistently high standard, including signature Candy Gang creations
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other barista equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning at all times
- Greet guests warmly and with energy, taking orders accurately and offering recommendations based on preferences
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked barista station in line with hygiene and brand presentation standards
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately through the point-of-sale system
- Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, toppings, and other beverage ingredients, flagging reorder needs to the supervisor
- Follow all food and beverage safety standards, including proper handling and storage of perishable items
- Contribute to the venue’s playful, high-energy atmosphere through friendly, engaging guest interactions
- Support colleagues during busy periods, particularly during peak social hours and weekends
- Assist with plating or garnishing beverages in line with Candy Gang’s signature visual presentation style
- Participate in ongoing training to learn new recipes, techniques, and seasonal menu additions
- Maintain a tidy, professional, and on-brand appearance in line with Candy Gang’s guidelines
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including station setup, cleaning, and equipment breakdown
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and floor staff to ensure smooth, coordinated service
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Barista, ideally within a cafe, dessert concept, or high-energy hospitality venue, is preferred
- Solid understanding of coffee preparation techniques, including espresso extraction and milk texturing
- Outgoing, energetic personality with strong guest-facing communication skills
- Ability to stay composed and efficient in a fast-paced, visually driven, high-volume environment
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage hygiene and safety standards
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, given the venue’s peak social hours
- Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage given Dubai’s diverse guest base
- A well-groomed, professional appearance suited to a vibrant, design-forward brand
- Willingness to learn creative beverage presentation techniques unique to the Candy Gang concept
- UAE hospitality experience is an advantage but not mandatory for candidates with the right energy and attitude
