Key Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitise, and store kitchen equipment, crockery, cutlery, and glassware to hotel hygiene standards.
- Operate dishwashing machines and stewarding equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and work surfaces throughout service periods.
- Support chefs and kitchen staff by ensuring a continuous supply of clean equipment during peak service.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling in line with hotel and municipal regulations.
- Assist with receiving and storing kitchen deliveries, checking stock against delivery notes.
- Follow HACCP and food-safety protocols at all times.
- Report any equipment faults or maintenance issues to the Stewarding Supervisor promptly.
Requirements
- Previous stewarding or kitchen support experience in a hotel or restaurant is preferred, though entry-level candidates may be considered.
- Understanding of basic hygiene and food-safety practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
- Physically fit and comfortable with standing, lifting, and fast-paced manual work.
- Basic English communication skills; additional languages are an advantage.
- Team-oriented attitude and willingness to support kitchen colleagues wherever needed.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
