This role is ideal for someone who takes genuine pride in the craft of coffee — from precise extraction and milk texturing to warm, memorable guest interactions. You’ll work in a fast-paced outlet where consistency, presentation, and personality all matter, contributing directly to the guest experience that SLS is known for across its global portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a full range of coffee and specialty beverages to brand standards, including espresso-based drinks, pour-overs, and seasonal specials.
- Maintain consistency in taste, temperature, and presentation across every order, regardless of volume or time pressure.
- Operate, clean, and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and related equipment, reporting any faults promptly.
- Greet guests warmly, take orders accurately, and process payments through the POS system.
- Upsell food pairings and beverage add-ons where appropriate, contributing to outlet revenue targets.
- Keep the barista station, display cases, and seating area clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout the shift.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and allergen-handling procedures in line with Dubai Municipality regulations.
- Manage stock levels for coffee, milk, syrups, and disposables, flagging reorder needs to the outlet supervisor.
- Build rapport with regular guests and residents, contributing to the outlet’s loyal local following.
- Support colleagues during peak periods and assist with basic food service tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a barista, ideally within a hotel, café, or premium F&B outlet.
- Solid understanding of espresso extraction, milk texturing, and basic latte art is a strong advantage.
- Friendly, energetic personality with excellent guest-facing communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and stay composed during high-volume rush periods.
- Good command of English; additional languages are beneficial given SLS Dubai’s diverse guest and resident base.
- Well-presented, punctual, and reliable, with a genuine passion for coffee and hospitality.
- Flexibility to work rotational shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Candidates currently based in the UAE and available to start promptly will be given priority.
