About the Role
As a Runner at Mama Shelter, you’ll be the vital link between the kitchen and the dining floor, ensuring every dish reaches the table quickly, accurately, and in perfect condition. You’ll work closely with chefs, servers, and floor supervisors to keep service moving smoothly, especially during high-energy peak periods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect completed dishes from the kitchen pass and deliver them accurately to the correct tables
- Confirm order details with kitchen staff before running dishes to avoid mistakes
- Communicate clearly with servers regarding order timing and special requests
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pass area and service stations
- Assist with table resets, clearing, and general floor support during busy periods
- Follow all food handling, hygiene, and presentation standards
- Support the wider F&B team with general service tasks as needed
- Move quickly and safely through a busy restaurant floor without compromising presentation
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a runner, busser, or in a similar entry-level F&B role is an advantage, but not mandatory
- High energy, physically fit, and comfortable working on your feet for extended shifts
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced kitchen-to-floor environment
- Basic spoken English required; additional languages are a plus
