About the Role

As a Spa Therapist, you’re the face of the spa experience. Guests arrive tired, stressed or simply ready to switch off, and it’s your job to make that happen through skilled hands, a warm welcome and a calm, professional presence. You’ll deliver a range of massages, body treatments and facials while keeping every treatment room spotless and every guest comfortable.

Jumeirah is a luxury hospitality brand, so the standard of service is high. The upside is a polished working environment, structured training and the chance to build a long-term career in international wellness.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Welcoming guests, discussing their needs and recommending suitable treatments.
  • Performing massages, body therapies and facials to the spa’s standards and protocols.
  • Checking for contraindications and allergies before every treatment and adjusting accordingly.
  • Preparing treatment rooms before each guest and resetting them afterwards, including linen, towels and products.
  • Maintaining high hygiene and sanitation standards for equipment, tools and the treatment area.
  • Recommending suitable home-care and retail products honestly and without pressure.
  • Handling guest feedback with care and passing on anything the spa manager should know.
  • Taking part in training sessions, team briefings and product knowledge updates.

Who They Want to Hear From

  • A recognised qualification in massage therapy, beauty therapy or spa therapy, such as ITEC, CIBTAC or CIDESCO, or an equivalent.
  • Previous spa experience, ideally in a five-star hotel or resort.
  • Confidence with a range of techniques, for example Swedish, deep tissue, aromatherapy and hot stone.
  • A friendly, genuine personality and strong guest-care instincts.
  • Good spoken English. Arabic, Russian or other languages can be a real advantage.
  • Neat grooming, good personal hygiene and a professional appearance.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and holidays, since spa demand peaks when others are off.

Why This Role Is Worth Considering

Working at a beachfront resort on Saadiyat Island is very different from a city-centre spa. The setting is calm, the guests are often on holiday and the atmosphere naturally encourages slowing down. For therapists, that means more time to do the work properly and more chances to build repeat guests who ask for you by name.

A well-known luxury brand on your CV also opens doors. Many therapists use experience at a resort like this as a stepping stone to senior therapist, spa supervisor or training roles across the region. If you enjoy learning, you’ll also find that luxury spas invest in product training and new techniques, which keeps the work fresh year after year.

Package and Benefits

Resort roles in the UAE commonly include a tax-free salary, accommodation or a housing allowance, meals on duty, medical insurance, annual leave with flights and staff discounts across the group. Because packages can change between positions and over time, please confirm all the details with the employer during the interview and in your written offer.

How to Make Your Application Stronger

  • Mention the exact treatments and techniques you’re confident delivering.
  • Attach clear copies of your diplomas and any short-course certificates.
  • Share a positive line or two about guest feedback you’ve received before.
  • Keep your CV clean and your photo professional.
  • Prepare for a practical assessment, where you may be asked to demonstrate a short massage sequence.
