A Typical Shift in the Kitchen
A stewarding shift usually starts with checking the dish area, stocking cleaning supplies and getting ready for the first rush. Once service begins, the plates come in quickly, and your job is to keep everything moving so the kitchen never runs out of clean equipment. Between busy periods you will take care of deeper cleaning, such as floors, drains and storage areas. It is demanding work, and the people who do it well are valued, because a well-run kitchen depends on them. Show that you are reliable and hardworking, and you may find chances to grow within the team.
