There is a certain kind of person who can tell you how a shot of espresso is pulling just by the sound of the machine. If that sounds like you, Hyatt is hiring a Barista in Dubai, and it could be a really good fit. Few places in the world have a coffee culture as busy as Dubai, and a hotel café or lobby bar is where it comes alive.
Think of the morning rush: business travellers grabbing a flat white before a meeting, families starting a holiday with something sweet, and regular guests who expect their order to be right every single time. As the barista, you are often the first friendly face they meet.

About the Role
The Barista prepares and serves coffee and other beverages to the hotel’s standard, while making every guest feel welcome. It is a mix of craft and hospitality. The drink has to taste right, look right and arrive with a smile, and you will often be doing all three while a queue builds up in front of you.
It is a great role for someone who enjoys being on their feet, chatting with people and taking pride in small details, like the pattern in the milk or the way a cup is handed over.
What You Will Be Doing
- Preparing espresso, cappuccino, latte, flat white, iced coffee and other hot and cold drinks.
- Steaming and texturing milk properly, including alternatives like oat, almond and soy.
- Taking orders, handling payments where required, and recommending drinks to guests.
- Keeping the coffee machine, grinder and bar area clean and well stocked.
- Following hygiene, allergen and food safety rules at all times.
- Supporting the wider F&B team during busy breakfast and event periods.
- Handling guest requests politely and passing feedback to your supervisor.
Who Hyatt Is Looking For
Exact requirements will be in the official advert, but for a barista role like this, candidates are usually expected to have:
- Previous experience as a barista in a café, hotel, restaurant or coffee chain.
- Good knowledge of espresso machines, grinding, dosing and basic latte art.
- A friendly, polished attitude and good spoken English.
- The ability to stay calm and quick during a rush.
- Flexibility for shifts, including early mornings, weekends and holidays.
- A neat appearance and a real interest in guest service.
If you have a barista certificate or have done any coffee training, mention it clearly. It will help you stand out, especially if your experience is limited.
Why Work in a Hotel Café
A hotel gives you a different pace from a standalone coffee shop. You meet guests from all over the world, you learn service standards used by international brands, and you work as part of a bigger team with room to grow. Many baristas go on to become senior baristas, supervisors or even beverage trainers.
Benefits depend on the property and your contract, so ask about accommodation, transport, medical insurance, staff meals, leave and visa support during the interview. Asking is completely normal, and a good employer will answer clearly.
How to Apply
- Update your CV and put your barista experience first, including the type of venue and the machines you have used.
- Keep it to one or two clean pages with your current phone number and email.
- Apply only through Hyatt’s official careers website or the original job advert.
- Prepare for a practical test, where you may be asked to make a few drinks and show your milk skills.
