Atlantis The Royal, Dubai’s ultra-luxury beachfront resort on Palm Jumeirah, is hiring a certified Lifeguard to join its Recreation team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in guest safety and satisfaction, combining strong technical lifeguarding competence with the warm, attentive service Atlantis is known for. Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor swimming pools, beach areas, and water features to ensure guest safety at all times
- Enforce pool and beach safety rules in a friendly yet firm manner, particularly around children and non-swimmers
- Respond immediately to emergencies, performing water rescues, first aid, and CPR when required
- Conduct regular safety checks on pool equipment, rescue tools, signage, and water quality readings
- Maintain accurate incident logs and report safety concerns to the Recreation Supervisor promptly
- Support water safety briefings and orientations for guests, particularly families with young children
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of pool and beach areas, including loungers and equipment
- Coordinate with lifeguard team members and security during peak occupancy or emergency drills
- Deliver proactive, guest-focused service that reflects the resort’s ultra-luxury standards
- Participate in ongoing lifeguard certification renewals and in-house safety training
Requirements
- Valid lifeguard certification (e.g., RLSS, NPLQ, StarGuard, or equivalent internationally recognised body)
- Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification
- Previous lifeguarding experience in a hotel, resort, or public pool/beach setting strongly preferred
- Strong swimming ability and physical fitness to perform water rescues under pressure
- Excellent observation skills and the ability to remain focused for extended periods
- Clear communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage
- A calm, decisive temperament suited to emergency response situations
- Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays
