Reif Japanese Restaurant is expanding its kitchen team and is looking for a skilled Sushi Chef to join its culinary brigade. As Sushi Chef, you’ll be a key part of that experience β from the first cut of the fish to the final plate that reaches the table.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes to the restaurant’s quality and presentation standards
- Selecting and handling fresh seafood and ingredients with strict attention to food safety
- Maintaining consistency in taste, texture, and presentation across all orders
- Managing mise en place and ensuring the sushi station is fully prepared before service
- Collaborating with the kitchen team to keep service smooth during busy periods
- Following HACCP and hygiene standards at all times
- Assisting with inventory control, ordering, and minimizing food waste
- Contributing ideas for seasonal menu items or specials when opportunities arise
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef in a restaurant or hotel setting, ideally within the UAE or GCC region
- Strong knife skills and solid understanding of traditional Japanese preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service hours
- A team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
- Flexibility with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
