About the Role

As a Kitchen Steward, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, washing and sanitizing kitchen equipment, and assisting the culinary team with general kitchen support duties. Your contribution will help maintain the highest standards of food safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment efficiently and thoroughly.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, floors, storage areas, and food preparation areas.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored.
• Remove waste and dispose of garbage according to hygiene and safety standards.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing deliveries and kitchen supplies.
• Support chefs and kitchen staff with basic preparation and cleaning tasks when required.
• Replenish cleaning supplies and notify supervisors of inventory shortages.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations at all times.
• Help maintain a safe and organized working environment.
• Assist during busy service periods to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a stewarding, cleaning, or kitchen support role is an advantage.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Good physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions effectively.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
